Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
There is one-fourth negative marking in both Prelims & Mains for each question wrongly marked!
From RBI Assistant Exam 2017-18, the prelims pattern has the same test pattern.
Candidates have to qualify in each of the three section (CUT OFF mark) by securing passing marks to be decided by RBI.
Note: Penalty for Wrong Answers: There is a penalty for wrong answers marked in both preliminary examination as well as mains examination. A wrong answer to an objective question will lead to a penalty of one-fourth of the total mark assigned to that question. There will be no penalty for the question left blank or unanswered.
The Language Proficiency Test will be conducted in the Official Language of the particular State.
The final selection will be on the basis of the candidate’s total performance in the Mains Exam and Language Proficiency Test (LTP).

This will be a 100 mark paper with a composite time of 1 hour. It will be an online objective test. The selection process for preliminary online exam the post of ASSISTANT will be as follows:

RBI Assistant Main Exam Test pattern 2017-18
The RBI Assistant Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks.
(I) Objective Test: The objective test of 2 hours and 15 minutes duration consist of 5 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks.
